The Playlist Shuffle Tag (2021)

I’d actually completely forgotten about this tag! I found it in 2019 on Beth’s blog ReadingEveryNight and decided to try it for the first time, and then did it again in March 2020. I’d originally intended to have a Recent Reads post for today, but unfortunately, I’m still in the middle of one of the books I wanted to include and decided I’d rather wait until I’d finished it. Instead, I thought I’d revisit this tag because it’s fun to see which songs come up when I put my playlist on shuffle. My Spotify list contains a lot of pop and R&B, some rock, but also soundtracks from musicals, Disney, and a ton of Youtube covers. The list I use for this tag is a bit more separated though since I have separate playlists for Disney, for Youtube Covers, and for Musicals. It might be fun to revisit this tag again using one of those lists, or a complete list if I can figure out how to do that.

For this tag, all you have to do is put your playlist on shuffle and post the first 10-15 songs that come up. I thought it would be a great time to revisit this one especially because I’ve finally started listening to music a bit more often while reading. I went through a phase where I had a hard time listening to any because it would distract me from my book. In general, I find it much easier to listen to songs I already know while reading because I like to pay attention to the lyrics, and if I try to absorb those while also trying to take in what I’m reading, it gets complicated! I’ve added a whole bunch more songs to my playlist since I last did this tag, so I’m curious to see what will come up. I still haven’t found out who the original creator of this tag is, so if anyone knows, please let me know so I can credit them properly! Also, if anyone would like to do this tag, consider yourself tagged.
