I guess I didn’t plan ahead that well for this week, since I have two collages back-to-back, but it only seemed right for this week’s prompt. I was very surprised to realize how rare red covers seem to be! I had trouble thinking of more than one or two off the top of my head, so I decided to just go through my Goodreads TBR page by page, and take the first 10 red books I could find. Technically I could have stopped after 5, but when I’m not writing detailed descriptions for each, it only seems fair to offer a few extras. It didn’t take too long to find the first 7 or so, but then there was a noticeable gap before any other red covers came up. I wonder if it has to do with the genres I read, but I didn’t really notice any specific patterns in cover colours. If anything, I’d say there’s a slight pattern toward mysteries/thrillers being red, but I’m not sure if that’s really a pattern or just the books I happen to have on my list. To be fair, I was also a little picky about what I considered a red cover. I specifically looked for books where the vast majority of the cover was red, and not just books that had some red on them. That probably would have made my job so much easier, since there are a ton of thrillers that seem to have a woman or child in a red coat, for some reason! Luckily, it didn’t take too much longer to find the last few books to get a full list of 10.
