Top 5 Wednesdays: Spring Colours

I was very happy to see that this week’s prompt was specifically about colours, and not necessarily the more general “covers that remind me of spring.” Of all the seasons, I tend to find spring the most difficult to narrow down in terms of what cover elements to look for. The only thing that I consistently associate with spring is flowers on the cover, but once I saw pastel colours mentioned in the description for this week’s prompt, I realized that’s something I tend to associate too! I’ve never really thought that much about seasonal colours before, except for the obvious reds and oranges for fall. I realized that I tend to associate bright yellows and blues with summer because they make me think of the beach, and snowy colours like white and gray or even dark blue for winter. For spring, the colours that tend to come to mind are green, pink and purple, and a lot of pastels. I know some of those are because I associate spring with plants and flowers, but I’m not sure what it is about pastels that screams spring to me. I decided to look through my Goodreads TBR and find some covers that somehow made me think of spring, and since I’m posting covers only, I’ll go for 10 instead of 5.
