I had no idea how to tackle this topic without risking spoilers! It’s very hard for me to talk about why the endings of certain books are my favourite without any detail, and it seemed a bit silly to just say “This book had a great ending” and leave it at that. Even though I generally don’t like to do two picture-based posts in a row, I eventually came to the conclusion that it was the safest approach. Most of the books that I picked are known for having surprising endings in some capacity, so I don’t really think it’s any kind of spoiler to say that they did. In general, when I think about a book that has a really strong ending or a potential favourite, I think about books that have a good twist. Sometimes, I’d also include books that have a conclusion that really sums everything up into a satisfying ending, but I guess I find those a bit less memorable overall. The endings that tend to stick with me are the ones that really creep me out or catch me off guard. These are just a few of the books that came to mind that had the endings that have stuck with me the most, either because they scared me or because they were so unexpected. Since I’m doing pictures only for the second post in a row this week, I think it’s only fair that I choose more than 5.

Oh Gone Girl and Atonement both have shockers for endings, for completely different reasons. Great choices!
