It was interesting that this topic came up since this is the first year since the start of COVID that I’ve actually been able to go on vacation. I’m actually not too much of a traveler since I have a lot of anxiety around planes, so I usually end up going to the same few places that I can reach by train. I have flown to a few other cities in the past, including New York, Chicago and Vancouver but those were so long ago that there’s no way I’d remember what I read there. Earlier this year we also had a Top 5 Wednesday topic about Must-Have Books on Vacation which I interpreted as types of book, not necessarily specific titles. After looking back at the books that I’ve actually read, they definitely fit those categories! I had to dig back a bit on my Goodreads pages to look at the few years prior to the pandemic to see what stuck out to me as something I’d read while away. I guess technically I could count any break from work as “vacation” but it didn’t quite feel right! The books below are all things that I distinctly remember reading in a hotel, or at least on a train, so I’m sure those were read on vacation.
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
