I was actually very curious to see what the highest rated books on my TBR were, but unfortunately Goodreads won’t allow me to sort my list! For weeks it’s been giving me a notification that reordering is disabled for long lists, but I didn’t really believe it since I have been able to sort my list by release date, date added, etc. throughout that time. When I tried to sort by average rating, however, it did not work at all. It seemed to just give me the books in a random order. I have just over 5000 books in total on my TBR list so I guess it’s no surprise that it would be hard to sort so many, but it confuses me that it can manage sorting by other categories. Even though the Top 5 Wednesday group has offered an alternative topic (books over 400 pages), I decided to use a bit of a workaround and search my list myself for some books that have high ratings. I limited myself to books released in 2022, just because I didn’t have the patience to filter through over 200 pages of 20 books each, and picked out several books that had a very high average rating on Goodreads based on what I subjectively felt was a decent number of ratings. There are many books that have a high average rating when only a handful of people have rated them, but it seemed a bit inaccurate to include those. I wouldn’t be surprised if several of the books that I ended up picking would have been the highest average ratings if my list could be sorted properly, although I’d imagine that some big-name books (ie. Cassandra Clare’s latest series) are missing just because they were published outside of 2022. I’ve listed them below in order from highest average to lowest, and I’ve included more than 5!
